My journey started through happenstance when I won a 90 minute yoga therapy and coaching session with Lucy.
Having never tried yoga and at my advanced age my first impulse was to pass my prize along to a friend but then I thought why not give it a go. This was the best decision I could have made, the sessions have improved both my physical and unexpectedly my mental wellness.
My 60s began with being consumed by grief after the loss of my husband to cancer facing an unanticipated future on my own, my resilience was low and I was struggling with finding ways to cope with my new reality on many levels. My goal in trying yoga was to become stronger, focusing on core strength and balance, I started with a series of private sessions to try and learn the poses and as I progressed I started to notice I was sleeping better, feeling more self confident, and the pain of grief was starting to lift its hold on me. I highly recommend private yoga with Lucy for me it is not just exercise it is therapy. Lucy has worked with me for the last 6 months, I have found the private instruction has been very beneficial as Lucy has been able to guide me in learning the poses and modifications suited to my level of ability and my body type. The individual attention the 90 minute personal yoga session allows for is well worth the investment and has paid huge dividends in my well being. I believe learning yoga would be very helpful to anyone trying to cope with difficult life transitions.
