Lucy’s course in MBSR did more than change my life. It changed me. Through Lucy’s teaching and coaching I found hope and strength within myself that I didn’t know I had. For years I have been reading books on the topic and although I gained much knowledge, I remained unchanged. Taking Lucy’s course is better than any book you can read. It goes deeper than just gaining knowledge to gaining strength, hope and resilience.

In the fall I am looking forward to attending her MBSR Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction eight-week program. I have been a student of various yoga teachers throughout the years and while I’ve been satisfied, I have never stuck with it for more than a couple of years.
I am confident that with finding Lucy I have not only found a “yoga teacher,” I have found an exceptionally kind, knowledgable, dedicated and exceptional guide. I fully expect to be studying with her throughout my “ senior “ years. ( I am 65 years young ). She is gifted at weaving together neuroscience, mindfulness, yoga and contemplative psychotherapy components in a seamless and interesting manner. The four hour Retreat went by far too fast !!! Everyone wanted to stay and practice more. As you can see from Lucy’s bio she has trained with the very best. The fact she would invest the time and expense in all her training including Jon Kabat-Zinn’s MBSR program speaks to her integrity in wanting to provide a magnificent experience for her students. Lucy delivers the programs from a place of love and true passion in all of her teachings, she wants to truly help each individual in the class. Based on the feedback from participants in her classes and workshops, she gets a gold star from all.
If you take any classes or workshops with Lucy you can expect to feel very welcome, nurtured and supported . Lucy provides the container for individuals to explore themselves emotionally and gaining knowledge about how the mind, body and spirit are able to brilliantly support each other to create optimal emotional , psychological and physical health. I leave Lucy’s classes feeling calm, energized and better equipped to meet the challenges of life and enjoy the joys of life even more.
Whether you are a beginner, advanced or a dabbler like I was, I invite you to attend. You will not only have found an excellent guide for your practice you will have found an individual who truly cares about her students and the integrity of her own practice.
As an aside, I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor - I encourage counsellors, psychologists or anyone in the helping professions - including nurses, medical doctors and teachers to pass on the word about her magnificent work. Your clients will benefit and Thank you for it.

I am so grateful for all the information, practices and insights that Lucy offered.
The course is set up in such a way that I have just naturally been able to incorporate so many of the practices into my everyday life. The tools have been so useful for reducing my response to stress. I am much more able to handle what life is throwing at me. I have taken other courses in the past, but I got so much more out of this one and I believe it was a combination of the content and the teacher. Lucy has such a warm and compassionate way of approaching her students. Thank you so much for everything Lucy.

Concerned that the changes in age and hip replacement surgeries could make yoga risky, I believed yoga was not for me even though so many others in my life found so much benefit from it. But I also learned how yoga can enhance the changes in the brain and other aspects of physiology that follow mindfulness meditation - something I do practice. But could I feel safe to follow instructions and be mindful of all physical sensations brought on by the poses without their evaluation and simply trust my teacher?
So I was profoundly grateful to have been guided to Lucy Weninger at Hollyburn Country Club. Lucy’s strong knowledge of functional anatomy, plus her ongoing careful attention , encouragements and acceptance of my efforts truly does allow me to be in my body for those amazingly short 75 minutes. Lucy continuously fine tunes my position and posture; she has an uncanny ability to know if a muscle group that should be contracting, isn’t!
Hers is truly individualized therapy that stems from her extensive teaching experience , knowledge and practice of different types of yoga which she can incorporate as needed and her complete willingness to demonstrate and assist throughout. And I must add it is fun.
I have no hesitation in recommending Lucy as an excellent yoga therapist especially when there is a medical condition to be taken into consideration.

The benefits are mediated primarily through the dampening of excess activity in the stress pathways of the hypothalamus and the bad-ass amygdala of the brain. Go for it.

Having never tried yoga and at my advanced age my first impulse was to pass my prize along to a friend but then I thought why not give it a go. This was the best decision I could have made, the sessions have improved both my physical and unexpectedly my mental wellness.
My 60s began with being consumed by grief after the loss of my husband to cancer facing an unanticipated future on my own, my resilience was low and I was struggling with finding ways to cope with my new reality on many levels. My goal in trying yoga was to become stronger, focusing on core strength and balance, I started with a series of private sessions to try and learn the poses and as I progressed I started to notice I was sleeping better, feeling more self confident, and the pain of grief was starting to lift its hold on me. I highly recommend private yoga with Lucy for me it is not just exercise it is therapy. Lucy has worked with me for the last 6 months, I have found the private instruction has been very beneficial as Lucy has been able to guide me in learning the poses and modifications suited to my level of ability and my body type. The individual attention the 90 minute personal yoga session allows for is well worth the investment and has paid huge dividends in my well being. I believe learning yoga would be very helpful to anyone trying to cope with difficult life transitions.

She introduced me to yoga and meditation as a way to help calm my anxiety.
She is compassionate and possesses a gentle and serene spirit.
Lucy only knew me through other friends but did not hesitate to reach out and ask me if I “needed anything”. I was so touched by her kindness and tenderness……so many people ask but very few people deliver when you take them up on their offer.
I asked her for a few yoga classes not expecting in my wildest dreams that she would do private classes.

Lucy is dedicated to her profession and is very welcoming and encouraging to all her students.
She takes time to explain the science and research behind the different meditation exercises and is very easy to understand and welcomes any questions.
I thoroughly enjoyed her classes and the atmosphere and personal attention she gives her students.

I have found Lucy to be extremely knowledgeable and very nurturing to all of us participants.
She takes the time to explain things on many levels, introduces meditation, yoga, goes over scientific researches so that eventually you understand how the mind and body are connected and work together.
The silent whole day Saturday meditation/yoga/walking meditation is an incredible experience.
I highly recommend this course and Lucy is truly amazing.
You will not regret making the commitment in taking her course.

In eight sessions she helped me become more resilient in the face of difficult emotions and life’s stresses. That’s amazing to say, I know. But I mean it. Also amazing is the type of mindful yoga she teaches to help show the role of the body in stress reduction. And with Lucy’s skilled instruction, previous injuries or age is no barrier to this yoga practice.
